Ahhh yes… Pixar!
June 9, 2006

It's that time… for another Pixar movie! We're catching the 4:05PM showing of Cars on the new (brandddd new) DLP projector in our regular theatre. More on that later (tomorrow). For now, I just want to sit back and enjoy all that is Pixar. I absolutely love Pixar. When it comes to animated films, they have been bar-none the best-of-the-best since the beginning. Every movie they've ever made: Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles has been amazing to every degree. Compared to Dreamworks and Blue Sky Studios (except that I have a certain affinity for the first Ice Age), Pixar's films are far better. Maybe part of this is summed up best by John Campea of another blog, TheMovieBlog.com, in his post titled John Lasseter Should Run Hollywood. Even the shorts that they put out are fantastic, too. Pixar is just… the king of kings in defining excellence in the world of animated films.
And oh yes, their next film has even had its first teaser trailer pushed out - Ratatouille (pronounced rat∙a∙too∙ee). It looks… mediocre (based on this teaser so far). Let's hope that Pixar maintains their excellence and hasn't started to roll down hill since Disney has had a foot in their door. Let's only hope…!
