Josh's Recomendations For Pirate Fans
June 29, 2006
by Josh Green
Well Pirates is only a week away, so I thought I would recomend some of my favorite films that are related to Pirates, in case anyone is really bored and wanting to watch some old flicks.
First off, before Johnny Depp was the stumbiling Jack Sparrow, he was Constable Ichabod Crane in "Sleepy Hollow". And even before that he portrayed Gilbert Grape in "Whats Eating Gilbert Grape." Those two are my favorite Johnny Depp movies.
Orlando Bloom ha just recenlty mounted his place on the A list of celebritism. Besides being  Legolas in "Lord of the Rings", he was just recently in "Elizabeth Town" as Drew Baylor. I really enjoyed this "life journey" film.
Keira Knightley is a talented actress who has also just recently grown in poularity. My favorite movie that she has been in recently was called "The Jacket", where she played Jackie Rice. It about a military veteran who goes on a journey into the future, where he can foresee his death and is left with questions that could save his life and those he loves.
So those are my recomendations for this week. Enjoy!

Another good "heartwarmer" starring Johnny Depp is called "Benny and Joon." It never won any praise from the critics, but was a very good performance by Mr. Depp.

"Cry Baby" by John Waters is a campy take on 50's flicks. Typical John Waters humor and satire.
"The Hole" is a pyschological thriller that stars Keira Knightley as a high school student that gets trapped in an old underground army bunker with her high school classmates.
Orlando Bloom had a decent supporting role in Ned Kelly with Heath Ledger in 2003 that is definitely an enjoyable film.
