by Alex Billington
In a Q&A session with Bryan Singer at the Comic-Con 2006 Warner Brothers panel, Bryan said that he is working with Warner Brothers and "has intentions" to have a Superman (Returns) sequel by 2009. He said that the first movie introduces the characters, and this sequel will allow him to get all "Wrath of Khan" on it.

Yeah…I can't say i'm all that excited about the idea of Singer getting his fingers on Superman again. Don't get me wrong, I liked most of Superman Returns, but there was a few points that just killed me. You know, like Supes being a quasi-stalker and having an ILLEGITIMATE SON! If that wasn't such a huge issue, I'd say just pretend it didn't happen and move on with the sequel, because I loved most of the cast. However, it did, so a reboot is so very needed.
It makes me so sad, ’cause Kevin Spacey is the 2nd best Lex so far.

There is only one SUPER MAN for 2009 , and that is the cast for smallville , if you want a super man movie get everyone that is on that show, and make the movie about the first time he puts on the uniform, and you will have a smash hit on your hands.

I agree, Singer isn't right for Superman. He took a melancholy approach that didn't work. Superman is supposed to be a bad ^ss, sort of. A good-guy sort of bad ^ss. I mean he's supposed to be not only strong but very aggressive. Singer didn't show that. And besides that, it was just boring. The only good part to me was the "family" surprise. I liked Lois' performance. I don't know if that Brandon R-whatever guy is the Superman we all want to see though. I would look at some other actors if I were the director.
That one part in the movie where Klark falls as a child and realizes he could defy gravity was lame. Take a page from the cartoon series of the '90's and have him storm out of his parents' house angry that he is a freak after being shown his spaceship, and then lets watch him run as fast as lightning with an angry look on his face and jump as high as he can off a cliff, only to find out he never lands and that he can fly. Now THAT is a good intro!
Reboot!

As a lifelong Superman fan I have watched several actors portray the Man of Steel. I found them all credible and most interesting. But I never felt for Superman before Brandon Routh's portrayal. I have always liked Superman. Now I care about him.

Put Smallville cast on the big screen. That dude who played Lex on the TV series was awesome.
