Zwartboek Trailer - Incredible!
July 31, 2006
by Alex Billington
If you want to see a seriously amazing trailer for (I hope) an equally amazing film, then watch this now! It's a film by Paul Verhoeven, the same guy who directed Starship Troopers back in '97. Everything about this trailer is riveting - right from the start and it's quick whip into intensity. Although it's in another language, you don't even need to understand it to simply be shocked in awe at just how amazing this film will be! Even better - the MPAA doesn't have control "over there" and this has nudity (NSFW) without a red band on it. Someone needs to pick up this film and distribute it to America!!

It's in German. Without subtitles. It could be the theatrical equivalent of 'Gone with the wind', except without subtitles it's a war movie being yelled in German.
Seems to me that it will be enjoyable to Germans and people who like war movies with zero understandable dialog.

Black Book (in En.) is indeed a masterpiece!
It takes place during WWII in occupied Holland.
A jewish singer decides to join the Dutch resistance after surviving a German mass killing. She with relatives and other jews is anxious to flee but get set upon by the local corrupt German forces.
It happens that they were set up, but by whom? The Black Book has the answer!
How did she survive? Who knew about her parents' wealth? Why is the resistance doomed to failure?
A brilliant movie where German, Dutch, Hebrew and English are spoken depending on the roles of the characters: under occupation, occupier, liberator (yet again, it's not all black and white!)
Out on DVD across Europe. Buy it online, with luck your DVD player plays all Region discs.
A MUST-SEE.
