Fearless Is Not Jet Li's Last Movie!
September 16, 2006
by Alex Billington
Rejoice fans of Jet Li! And sorry to Focus Features, who have been using the "claim" that this is Jet Li's last movie ever in the marketing for Fearless, and in turn getting people out to see him in his final epic. But unfortunately (for Focus Features at least) it's not actually true (that's where the rejoicing happens)! ComingSoon.net reported from the Fearless press conferences happening in New York this weekend (in which we were "not invited") that Jet Li confirmed he is at least in an upcoming movie with Jackie Chan.
"Always there's rumors, rumors, rumors, for 15 years," Li told us, "but now- it's true! Next April, we're going to make a movie. Everybody's waiting for the producer and the director to announce."
This is quite exciting news for anyone who loves Li's excellent martial arts abilities and the films he's been in. He's one of the very best in making kung fu movies that are not too cheesy and is still a fantastic martial artist. And on top of that, he's confirming that he will be in a film with Jackie Chan, of all people. The rumors had been flying around for quite some time about the combination teaming up, but it was not entirely confirmed until just now.
For anyone interested, stay tuned for First Showing updates coming next week about huge hype events for Fearless that we will be running in Colorado.

Why is it that Focus Features is claiming, then, that it is Li's last film?!
It's retarded and frustrating that they said this! I love Li's films! I am a huge Jet Li & Jackie Chan fan!

In the bonus features of Fearless there is an interview with Jet Li and he says that this will be his last movie. But I'm not so sure that it wasn't edited so that he says it.

it's so clear they said LAST MARTIAL ARTS MOVIE.. not last movie..
however, i think with a collaboration like Jackie Chan and Jet Li, hey.. i think i'd want to see that..
and i think i'd beg jet li to back down on his words and do the movie with Jackie..

It's listed as his last martial arts epic, meaning his last fim in the vien of Once Upon a Time in China and Hero. His following movies are going to be either fantasy or set in present day.

Actually, he said it would be his last Wushu martial arts film. To date, he has not done another such film. Therefore, he is still within his word.

Jet Li put his heart and soul into FEARLESS therefore he will never make another movie like it. He believes martial arts is a delicate and beautiful thing that is used to stop violence instead of promote it. His films will still be full of action and fighting but martial arts will not be the primary focus.
