Pan's Labyrinth for Foreign Language Film Academy Award!
September 28, 2006
by Alex Billington
It may be a little bit early to jump the gun, especially having not even seen the movie, but I am already supporting Pan's Labyrinth for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar! My basis for this lies largely in the amazing reviews so far that are both publicly seen online as well as privately discussed.
It was announced that the highly anticipated fantasy film by writer/director Guillermo del Toro was chosen to represent Mexico in this year's Academy Awards for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar. The film received standing ovations at both the Cannes and Toronto film festivals. Pan's Labyrinth will be released on December 29th of this year, right at the very cutoff for the Academy Awards.
