Kirsten Dunst Unlikely to Return in Spider-Man Sequels
October 16, 2006
by Alex Billington
SlashFilm reported that Spider-Man star Kirsten Dunst, known as Mary Jane Watson in the movies, will likely not return for Spider-Man sequels if there are any more to be made. She stated in a recent interview that she is pursuing art school and taking a break from movies.
"Right now I want to go to art school. It's important to do other things," Dunst told Evening Echo. "I'm not the type of actress who likes to do movie after movie after movie. It doesn't feel like you have much of a life. You're just taking on a new identity in a way."
The actress would like to follow in the footsteps of her mother, who used to own her own art gallery.
Now, I'm not one to start up internet rumors that fly around the world in a matter of minutes, but this leads me to believe that if they were to make another Spider-Man film in the next four years, she wouldn't be in it. Dunst and co-star Tobey Maguire have been quoted in previous interviews stating that they are not necessarily interested in continuing the franchise after their contract ends at the completion of Spider-Man 3. Especially with Dunst saying she is taking a break and likely to start four years of school, it's looking rather gloomy for a sequel to be made with her as Mary Jane. Will they instead kill her off in Spider-Man 3? We'll have to wait until May 2007 to find out!

What a flake she is! She wants to major in art? I guess she's burnt out. After all,she is a child actress and for that matter, she never was any better than she was as the bloodthirsty little girl from INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE. I could care less if Dunsten returns, actually. Her Mary Jane just grates on my every last nerve. Bryce Dallas Howard is much prettier. I think Peter Parker would be better off with Gwen Stacy rather than a whiny little bitch like Mary Jane. As for Maguire coming back,he agreed to 50 Million Dollars plus profits for Spiderman 4 and 5 which will most likely be filmed back to back. Carnage and Lizard are rumored to be the villains of Spiderman 4.

Tony grow up you winey wee winger!!
So Kirsten wants to pursue a possible career in art and maybe one day open her own art gallery, good for her, she proof that even if you get sucked into Hollywood land you can still escape and set up a normal semblance of a life for yourself. I for one wish her luck where as you seem to take it as a personal attack. So she may not be in Spiderman 4, move on and pick someone else and let her get on with living her own life.
