29th Denver Film Fest Starts Today
November 9, 2006
by Alex Billington
The Starz 29th Denver Film Festival starts today in, of course, Denver, Colorado. Although a long time festival featuring a great selection of films, it's not one of the most well known. That won't stop us from getting out and seeing some of the great films they're showing. FirstShowing.net, myself included, will be out covering a number of them. Unfortunately we have been told that we're not allowed to publish reviews. So really I'm not sure how much discussion we can do for each one. However, keep an eye out because we may at least be talking about what was good and what wasn't. Read on for a list of some of the films we'll be catching.
There is a very wide selection of smaller independents and first-time features from budding filmmakers, but we won't be able to get to everything due to schedule restrictions. However we are planning on checking out:
Pan's Labyrinth
The Host
Breaking and Entering
Rescue Dawn
Venus
Starter for Ten
The Aura
F*ck
Severance
Candy
Personally I'm quite excited for Pan's Labyrinth, Rescue Dawn, Venus, and F*ck. As for the rest, we'll see, but they all sound interesting as well! Keep checking FirstShowing.net for all the latest updates from the Denver Film Fest. And if you're in Colorado anywhere, make sure you at least swing by Denver and check out one of these great films!
