Marvel and Fox in a Scuffle? X-Men 4 Worrisome
November 28, 2006
by Alex Billington
Take this with a grain of salt, as some of this insider news can't always be trusted. However, a few sites are reporting through Xmenfilms.net that Marvel and 20th Century Fox are in a bit of a fight over their current situation. Apparently Marvel is not satisfied with everything and may end up taking X-Men 4 elsewhere (although leaving Wolverine and other spin-offs where they're at).
From Moviehole.net: "Marvel has an alternate plan for the future of these movies. One that Fox is reluctant to take seriously", says the site. "However, they may have little choice in the matter because ultimately the X-Men are Marvel's characters" and Marvel has been making "even bigger steps to control and have more say in the production of their movies."
I only report this because I'm quite dissatisfied with nearly everything Fox has had to offer as of recent. The only good films they have are translations of great TV shows that they bought the rights to (Borat and Reno 911!: Miami). Other than those rare examples, almost all of what Fox is releasing has been awful. Maybe this will be all the better for X-Men 4 if not only this story is true, but if X-Men 4 is actually being made as well.
