Nic Cage in Philip K. Dick Adaptation Titled "Next" Coming September 2007
December 5, 2006

Nic Cage will not only be starring in Ghost Rider this coming February, but also in a Philip K. Dick sci-fi thriller titled Next. The film is slated for release on September 28th, 2007. The PKD short story that it's based off of is called "The Golden Man," and SciFi.com caught up with Cage on the film.
I love these quotes from Cage, some of the best I've heard in a recent while:
"If you're looking for the Philip K. Dick mindfuck, you will get it."
He also described, "[It's] based on a Philip K. Dick short story about a man who has the prescient ability to see two minutes within his own future."
Cage goes into some further details on the story as well, "He keeps seeing this girl played by Jessica Biel, and he doesn't know why he keeps seeing her. He's got to find out, and when he does, he realizes he can actually see further ahead when she's there. … It's romantic, too. And Jessica Biel is great in it."
The movie also stars Julianne Moore, who can be seen coming soon in Children of Men, and the always gorgeous Jessica Biel, with an element of romance as previously mention by Cage. I don't have an opinion just yet, not until I hear more or until I see an actual trailer. However, Philip K. Dick has some twisted stories, so at least that's a great start.

It is cobblers to say this is based on the story The Golden Man. Or perhaps 'based off of' means something different.
