Raimi Rules the Comics to Screen World!

In addition to creating the Spider-Man series and putting out (what I predict will be) the record breaking (in every single way possible) Spider-Man 3 next May, Sam Raimi nearly rules the comics (or at least written-on-paper medium) to screen world. IGN FilmForce has caught a scoop that he's also working on bringing some "dead" pulps from the 1930's and 40's era to the big screen as well. IGN says, "The project would unite a number of famous pulp heroes from Street and Smith Publications, which had once been among the top pulp publishers." Although I'm personally unfamiliar with these, they mentioned that he'll bring Doc Savage, The Shadow and The Avenger all to the screen in one film. Also included in this "rumor" is that Sam Raimi will be directing in addition to producing.
The Shadow was previously a 1994 film with Alec Baldwin as the main character. In addition, a Doc Savage movie has been long in-development, but never came together. Anyone have any say on this whole pulp thing with Raimi? Seems like some obscure news, but as I said above, Raimi is incredible, and anything he works on is pure, solid gold.
Author's Note: Yes I know pulps aren't officially comics, but they're nearly the same medium, and illustrated as well, so I pretty much count it all the same nowadays.
