Richard Kelly's Southland Tales Nearly Ready

December 12, 2006
by Alex Billington

The long-time-coming next film from Donnie Darko's creator Richard Kelly, Southland Tales, is finally re-edited and cut down into its finished form. Director and writer Richard Kelly wrote on his MySpace blog that he has locked down the final cut of Southland Tales to 2 hours, 17 minutes - still a good length.

Kelly stated, "I am very happy with this edit, as we have done a significant amount of work to solve the Rubiks Cube narrative. Justin Timberlake just recorded the final voice-over this past sunday. We still have some visual effects work to do… but expect a release date and a trailer soon!" Within a few weeks we'll hopefully have the news about the release date and a full trailer - something I am anxiously awaiting and will be covering the minute it's out! Anyone else out there excited for Southland Tales?
