Lionsgate gets The Backwoods with Gary Oldman

A new Lionsgate horror flick for ya'll. They seem to be running the gamut and controlling everything good these days when it comes to horror / thrillers at least. The Backwoods is a thriller set in Basque country in 1978. Two young couples on vacation stumble on a deformed girl in a cabin and, in a tale of mounting violence, anger local villagers when they try to help her. Stars Gary Oldman and Paddy Considine and is directed by first-timer Koldo Serra, who hails from Spain. Lionsgate just bought the North American rights to this so expect to see it sometime soon (hopefully 2007) in theaters.
