Another Scorsese Film: The Last Duel Adaptation
by Alex Billington
December 1, 2006
Ever since the immense success of the incredible film The Departed, director Martin Scorsese has been the talk of quite a bit of news. The most recent, as announced by Variety, is that he will be taking on another film adapting Eric Jager's book "The Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, Scandal and Trial by Combat in Medieval France." Honestly I don't know it and I haven't read it, but the title alone sounds intriguing. The book tells a story of a duel that occurred in the 14th Century between knights Jean de Carrouges and Jacques LeGris. The duel was the last one sanctioned by the French government.
The film is still quite a ways out, as Scorsese has a number of other projects he is working on first, including a Rolling Stones documentary for Paramount.
