Hellboy 2 Confirmed For 2008
by Alex Billington
August 4, 2006
Via news confirmation from Variety on SuperHeroHype and /FILM, the sequel to Guillermo del Toro's 2004 film Hellboy is being picked up by Universal Pictures and slated for a summer 2008 release. Ron Perlman will be back as Hellboy himself, Selma Blair will be back as Liz Sherman, and Doug Jones, after finishing his role in Fantastic Four 2 as Silver Surfer, will also be back as Abe Sapien. The team is back together and they've finally got a home for this film - definitely some great news. Hellboy 2: The Golden Army should be another great movie to look forward to in 2008.

After the post on 2007's big movies, there's been some minor thought on what's already confirmed as well for 2008. Even though thinking about that being two years out and an even longer wait, some distributors have still slated release dates already. The next Bond (after Casino Royale later this year) will be released on May 2, 2008. In addition: Jon Favreau's Iron Man, the next Batman sequel titled The Dark Knight, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the Chronicles of Narnia sequel: Prince Caspian, James Cameron's epic sci-fi Avatar, and a few others like Indiana Jones 4, Toy Story 3, and Where The Wild Things Are; are all 2008 movies as well. It's of course way too early, but it may even possible to start saying that 2008 is looking pretty damn good as welll.
