The Descent Director Neil Marshall's Next: Doomsday
by Alex Billington
November 15, 2006
Hollywood Reporter has reported that Neil Marshall, the director of the horror film The Descent from earlier this year, will be working on a follow-up titled Doomsday. Doomsday is a futuristic action thriller, written by Marshall as well, set three decades after a lethal virus broke out in a major country and forced them to wall the entire country off. When the virus, called the Reaper, appears in another country, an elite group is sent to the infected country to find a cure. There they encounter a landscape that has become a nightmare and must battle their way through it all.
The lovely Rhona Mitra, of Hollow Man, Sweet Home Alabama, and Skinwalkers previously, has just signed on to play the leader in this elite group. Production will begin in early 2007 for an expected late 2007 release from Rogue Pictures.
