Toy Story 3 Confirmed for 2009
February 9, 2007
by Alex Billington
Per announcements at a Disney investors conference this week via Variety, Toy Story 3 is confirmed to arrive in 2009 from Pixar. The good news is that Michael Arndt, who's nominated for the screenwriting Oscar for Little Miss Sunshine, is writing the script. The somewhat not great news is that Pixar head honcho John Lasseter will not be directing, rather Lee Unkrich, who's only co-directed Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo. I think everyone needs to stop casting a shadow over Lee Unkrich and just let a great movie be made. I still think a wonderful film will come from Pixar, despite Lasseter missing, and especially with Arndt's work on the script. Until 2009, Wall-E is up next from Pixar in 2008 as well as Ratatouille this summer.
