Casting Updates on James Cameron's Avatar
February 15, 2007
by Alex Billington
Just yesterday director James Cameron updated Ain't It Cool News with some casting confirmations on his next hugely epic sci-fi project Avatar. Although the film isn't even coming out until the summer of 2009, he's already begun filming some scenes and starting work on the production. Cameron confirmed that Wes Studi, Sigourney Weaver, Peter Mensah, Joel David Moore, Laz Alonso, Sam Worthington, and Zoe Saldana are all cast in Avatar. I can only imagine what two complete years of production is going to turn out in the end - hopefully brilliance.
And for those unfamiliar, check out this wild plot synopsis: it's the story of a wounded ex-marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival. Sound exciting? I hope so.
