Trippy Philip K. Dick Film Trailer Launches - Next
February 22, 2007
by Alex Billington
Ghost Rider has a new super power - he can see into the future! Holy crap this looks awesome! Just 5 days before Spider-Man 3 will rock our worlds to oblivion, Nic Cage will be back (not as Ghost Rider), but as Cris Johnson in the Lee Tamahori (Mulholland Falls, Die Another Day) directed film Next. It's originally a Philip K. Dick novel and involves a pretty interesting plot, so watch the new trailer!
You can watch it in full high def on Apple's site here.
Next is set to open on April 27th. It's based on the Philip K. Dick novel titled "The Golden Man". What do you think of the trailer? Will you be seeing this in theaters right before Spider-Man 3?

That was a good trailer. It has me interested and I'm sure I will be seeing that. I liked the song in it, but something about Nic Cages hair made me laugh. Other then that, I'm game.

The movie looks like it has potential although some of the scenes near the end of the trailer looked very rendered.

OK. Let's get it right PKD newbies.
The Golden Man is a short story… not a novel.
Always tricky to extend a short story into a full film,
but the PKD elements always have at least a good shot
to make it work. In this case the extended elements go
way beyond the orginal story even changing key elements.
In the story the main character had NO awareness of the past - only the future… so pretty much a totally new
creature on this one.
cheers
