Crank Sequel Probable - In Early Stages
March 3, 2007
by Alex Billington
There was that movie last September called Crank where our favorite British killing machine Jason Statham ran around on adrenaline and caffeine for a full 90 minutes wreaking havoc. I loved that movie quite a damn bit, from the style to the ridiculous story and even the comedy scenes. I just felt like drinking about 6 Red Bulls and running up and down the streets after I got out of it.
A recent report from JoBlo states that a sequel is "in the early stages" at Lakeshore Entertainment (the production company that did the first one) and that directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor will likely be back on again to direct. Apparently no other information was released, just that brief amount. The first one ended at a rather odd moment, and I'm not sure how it at all opened the doors to a sequel, but I will say one thing - oh hell yes! And to all you nay-sayers out there, this wasn't a cheesy action flick, it was a different and fresh adrenaline-fueled romp, and I can't wait for this so called "sequel"!
