Transformers Almost Rated R?!
March 9, 2007
by Alex Billington
Our friends at IESB caught up with the big up-and-comer Shia LaBeouf, and one of the details they got out of him was that the live-action Transformers movie due out in July, went to the MPAA and actually got an R-rating the first time!! Although a bit more skeptical (of being real), IESB said that Shia's newest friend Steven Spielberg went and argued the point with the MPAA in order to get it set at PG-13 instead. The reason why it was initially rated R: "intense action and violence".
This is the first very good sign that Transformers may actually be really damn good! There's enough robots-in-disguise rampage that it merits an R-rating?! Oh man, my geek senses are tingling today! First Rorshach and now this, and the release of 300!!!! What a day…
If this all is true, it's a very interesting consideration. I'm not sure if the MPAA have just gotten more strict and are only ever talked down, or if there really was a vast amount of "intense action and violence" that it required an R. Either way, it's actually a good sign. Everyone wants a Transformers movie that not only lives up to the history that the series has, but that is incredibly awesome in every way a giant robot movie should be! Go Michael Bay, make us proud!

Yes make it an "r" rated. how about make it xxx and have transformers screwing each other. that would be more realistic than part one. transformers part 1 was retarded and the 40 year old men going to see a kid movie is even more retarded. people should grow up
