Linklater Working on More Dazed and Confusing College Years

Richard Linklater, director of the 1993 cult classic marijuana infused film Dazed and Confused, spoke to crowds at the SXSW Film Festival last Saturday and revealed that he is working on a Dazed and Confused-like film about his first year in college. The report from IGN quoted Linklater during his panel.
"I'm currently writing a movie based on my freshmen year in college," said Linklater. "I mean, if I was to do a general pitch it would be 'Dazed and Confused goes to college.' But it's not that, but it's kind of that. It's about spending your freshmen year in college."
If there was ever one guy to make a film about how totally twisted and ridiculous the freshmen year is in college, it would have to be Richard Linklater. Almost every film he's made so far (with an exception of Fast Food Nation) is literally something that most experience during their freshmen year anyway! And most of his films I like, they're all incredibly original. As long as it doesn't turn out like Smiley Face from Sundance, this should be something exciting to look forward to!
