Casting Updates on Fernando Meirelles' Blindness
March 15, 2007
by Alex Billington
A few brief casting updates for City of God and Constant Gardener director Fernando Meirelles' next film called Blindness. Last September we posted the first news on the film, which is a philosophical thriller about an epidemic of blindness that overtakes a modern city. Updates from The Hollywood Reporter states that Daniel Craig and Julianne Moore are in negotiations to both star in the film. Craig, of course, is a fine choice, and Julianne Moore is also always a great choice - she always delivers well in strong roles. If this turns out to be the case, I'm truly excited to see what these two will do in a Meirelles film, and if it will bring them Oscars too, just like Rachel Weisz in The Constant Gardener.
