Snyder Continuing His Reign of Zombies
March 26, 2007
by Alex Billington
Zack Snyder, director of the recently incredibly successful 300 as well as the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead, will be reteaming with Warner Brothers to at least produce an Army of the Dead zombie action-thriller. The best part is that for the first time in a long time, this is an original story from Snyder's own mind.
Set in a quarantined Las Vegas (remind you of something?) in the not-too-distant future, the film focuses on a father who tries to save his daughter from imminent death in a zombie-infested world. Snyder wants to create something that is as epic and sweeping as well as stylized as 300. "I feel like there hasn't been a zombie movie on the scale that we want to do it," Snyder said. Currently set to write the script from Snyder's idea is Joby Harold, who wrote the upcoming thriller movie Awake.
There are a whole lot of awesome zombie projects in the works, including this and World War Z, in addition to big zombie films Grindhouse, 28 Weeks Later, and Fido coming out this year.

This sounds interesting. I will be following it till it comes out. Good to hear that a zombie movie (besides Fido and Shaun of the Dead) will be an original and not a remake.
