Wes Craven's Favorite 5 Horror Films

Wes CravenI guess in somewhat of early honor of the Friday the 13th coming up this weekend, one of horror's true masters, Wes Craven, has listed out his own 5 favorite horror films. Although the creator of a number of classic horror movies including the original Hills Have Eyes, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Scream, he's gone a bit commercial recently, helping produce and even write the awful new disaster of a remake The Hills Have Eyes 2 that came out a few weekends ago. But let's move on to a much more respectable list from Mr. Craven.

Compliments of The Wall Street Journal (speaking of commercial), his favorite 5 horror films are:

Frankenstein (1931)
The Bad Seed (1956)
The Exorcist (1973)
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
Alien (1979)

You can read his comments on each of them over at WSJ.com, as he provides some great responses in terms of the impact these films had. I'm glad to see that although he's gone a bit crazy in helping create today's The Hills Have Eyes 2, he still hasn't lost sight of what really made horror what it is today.

If someone had a great idea for a new movie, something that no one else has done, how would I get mail or in touch with Mr. Cravens????
