Danny Boyle's Trainspotting Sequel 'Porno' Coming Together

Irvine Welsh's PornoDanny Boyle, the same guy who directed the British drug cult classic movie Trainspotting as well as the zombie film 28 Days Later, has been speaking recently all over the world in promotion of his upcoming sci fi movie Sunshine. The Trainspotting sequel would be an adaptation of the Irvine Welsh novel Porno, which is literally the sequel to Welsh's book Trainspotting from 1993, if that didn't all confuse you. So far he's got the rights from Welsh and a script, and the latest news is that he's got all of the cast back together, even Ewan McGregor.

Talk of a sequel has been going on for quite some time, but Ewan McGregor has been the most vocal about his disconnection with Danny Boyle, including a recent statement or two. However a report from Scotsman.com states that Boyle told them that the entire original cast will be back together, supposedly including McGregor, who hasn't actually confirmed or denied it. Apparently it's all coming together fairly well, and it may actually get made.

I'm not familiar with Porno, but I believe all the junkies get back together to pull off another big-payoff scheme again. Given how much Danny Boyle himself as well as all of the actors have progressed since Trainspotting came out in 1996, I am hoping the result could be nothing less than something similar to a well-made remake from the same filmmaker, even though that's not the case. Keep watch here as we follow this project.

I'm not too sure about this one.
When i heard the book was getting i released i was very excited about the possibility of a new film. After the reading the book im not so sure. While it's a decent book i can't see how it could live up to Trainspotting. Good luck if they do though. Hopefully the rumours about the original cast are true as imagine someone else playing Renton or Begbie!
