Michael Bay Directing Bruckheimer's Prince of Persia Movie!

In an exciting announcement today, IESB.net broke the news that Transformers director Michael Bay will again team up with Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer in the Disney film adaptation of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. This power duo has teamed up before on such epic movies as Bad Boys I & II, The Rock, Armageddon, and Pearl Harbor, and this time I see them pulling out one hell of an awesome franchise.

Michael Bay (L) and Jerry Bruckheimer (R)
The film adaptation of the video game series from Ubisoft has been announced since late February, and a few early concept art images appeared online as well. Disney has putting this film on the forefront as its next big franchise after Pirates of the Caribbean (that is, if it really ends this May 25th, I don't think it will). Having played the game myself, I'm looking forward to this franchise almost even more than I am the next Pirates of the Caribbean.
For those unfamiliar with it, the video game follows an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. It's set in medieval Persia, Earth's mightiest and most mysterious kingdom, which I know will already provide lush backdrops just as it did in the game. It received numerous Game of the Year awards and has become a best-selling title. The original creator of the game, Jordan Mechner, stated at an earlier date:
"Rather than do a straight beat-for-beat adaptation of the new videogame, we're taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story - much as 'Pirates' [of the Caribbean] did with the theme park ride."
On that note… I'm going to go fire up The Sands of Time and play through the beautiful game yet again. The film is eyeing a summer of 2009 release.

I am Persian …
I hope this movie show the real Persia , Not the persia we saw in 300 … It was great with a great king in the name of Cyrus the great … So I just wish the best for producers . Please be honest with history .

The real persia? Here is a tip no one really knows the REAL persia, anything based off of stories, and writing will always be fabricated. So go ahead and start hating this movie now. We all know that once it is made, you will boycott it with the rest of your E-persian friends, because it made you look inferior.
Here is another tip for you, if you are going to make references to the 300 persians then dont. Everyone knows that Xerxes and his army which was persian, since xerxes was persian (ofcourse you know that right) tried to conquer the world, and did a fairly good job at it.
No matter how you try and portray it, Xerxes and his era was infact an ERA in a the kingdom that was persia. So you cant have the other stories, without the evil time of persias history. Everyone has bad times in their pasts, but guess what? Those stories during the good times sucked, and would make boring movies.
So to sum up my mini book, stfu and quit being a baby, ohh boohoo someone portrayed my ancestors, exactly like how they were during that time

ROFLMAO! I don't care how historically accurate it is, really. It's a MOVIE based on a GAME. It's not supposed to be accurate. It's supposed to be entertaining.

Amazing, you must be a idiot, wait a second, the idiot would be insulted if he found out you were categorized as he did, read a book! hope you know how to read. The reasons why the Persians attacked Greece was retaliation against what the Greek armada did in Sardis, , Darius started the attack without tactics whatsoever. But this was for Ionia to be freed.
Next, is the fact if there a million Persian soldiers at that time, than may be, the Persian population of this year is a billion like China, the Persian Army at that time relied on mercenaries to complete its conquest. The Persians were militarily weak in the infantry that is why the Greeks were badasses in in the infantry.
I am Greek, and the damn movie destroyed history for both people, how I wish they used how we really stalled them in battle using, the way of the land and etcetera, damn Frank Miller for adding this nonsense where we throw children if they are sickly and deformed, he made us look like racists as well. But frank miller has always been a homophone and a racist, cant blame him for that, right Tom!
