Guest Editorial: The Paris Hilton Effect

Today we present a guest editorial written by friend and fellow movie aficionado Ken Evans. We hope you enjoy and we look forward to more contributions from Ken coming soon!

We are now, more then ever, surrounded by mediocrity. The average or simple is rewarded and celebrated. It seems we can't go or look anywhere without being overcome by surface-level rubbish. People just want to shut off their minds and be entertained by that which is flashy and has little depth.

Alex's Summer of Greats: My Most Highly Anticipated Films

Inspired from a post over at The Movie Blog, I've decided to put together my own list of my most highly anticipated summer films of 2007. Bruce Campbell In Richard Stanley's Vacation?

Everyone's favorite B-movie action hero Bruce Campbell, also known to most as Ash from Army of Darkness, has his own movie about him being Ash coming up called My Name is Bruce. But besides that, what else is he working on? Well he's got a cameo in Spider-Man 3 in a few weeks, but a rumor from film ick is claiming Bruce Campbell is going to star in Richard Stanley's next movie titled Vacation.

Clash of the Titans Remake Being Written by Lawrence Kasdan

When I first watched Clash of the Titans in Astronomy class, I seriously thought it was some 1940 epic movie in the likes of Wizard of Oz that they made to tell this ancient Greek story. And damn did I love it! It was only later I found out that it was made in 1981 and is still an awesome film. And guess what, now they're remaking it - oh hell yes, this is a remake that is for once welcomed in my eyes!

Clash of the Titans

The good news today states that Warner Brothers has set none other than screenwriting "hero" Lawrence Kasdan to write the remake, who wrote such insanely classic hits as Return of the Jedi, The Empire Strikes Back, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. And just think, now this is the guy who is writing the script for the remake of Clash of the Titans!
