Worth Watching - Apr 26: The Warlords Trailer with Jet Li
April 26, 2007
by Alex Billington
This trailer just came out of nowhere! I'd never even heard of this movie at all until I saw the trailer, and now I'm excited to present it to all of you. The movie, called The Warlords, is about an epic historical battle based on "The Assassination of Ma," a Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) story about the killing of general Ma Xinyi. It's a heroic tale of three blood brothers and their struggle in the midst of war and political upheaval and stars Jet Li and Andy Lau. As always, I suggest you check it out and let us know what you think!

The Warlords was directed by the Bangkok-born Peter Chan. As of now, a December 2007 release is listed for Hong Kong only, and we can expect that it won't open in the US until sometime in 2008.

Looking forward to it. Any film with Jet Li, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Andy Lau is worth watching.

I bought the Chinese import DVD with English subtitles. Great story, great acting, great action. Supposedly 500 horses, and tens of thousands of extras were used in the movie. Attached a link to the site I bought the DVD from. Its an all-code NTSC disc, so will play in normal DVD players.
