The Ultimate Spider-Man 3 Camp-Out
May 3, 2007
by Alex Billington

You can praise us, you can laugh at us, you can ignore us, but you can't deny that what we've built here is pretty incredible, considering it's just a simple campsite outside of a movie theater. We had to top ourselves from last year for Superman Returns, so we decided to kick it up a notch and build something that no one has ever seen before. Check out these photos from our Ultimate Spider-Man 3 Camp-Out!
We consider ourselves to be a bit more than the regular geeky guys who camp out. Don't say go get a job (or a life) - because this is our job! We love doing this and we love showing to everyone that camping isn't crazy, it's a fun activity and everyone can have a great time. We invite everyone to come to our campsite and catch a few movies or play some games, as it's a community event for all to enjoy.
Thanks to Cinemark for allowing us to build this and work with them. They're the theater that we built at and have always been incredibly helpful! Cinemark rocks!

The inside - with carpet, a couch, coffee table and 5.1 surround sound.

The completed wall painted with a film reel and our entire camping area on Thursday before the midnight showings began.

Another shot of the finished wall - yes that is a film reel! It'll be re-painted for Pirates 3.
We'll be back again in a few more weeks for Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and a few more really big movies this summer. For our complete listing of events, just head to and bookmark our Events Page!

Is that super mario kart on the super nintendo?! I can't believe I'm missing that insane action!! Seeing pictures like that make me realize that working is way overrated. Just makes me want to get out of my office and get down there all ready. Tickets in hand and ready to enjoy the glory that is Spiderman 3! See you guys tonight!

I wish I lived out in Colorado so I could check this out. I also wish I could see the movie tonight, but I have to wait until tomorrow! Is nothing fair?!

It is so cool to see the difference a year has made. You guys have come a long way with the site and everything. Way to go… sponsors are an integral part of the success of the camp-outs. Mario Cart rocks but break out the N64 and play some Golden Eye to get the party going.

[...] Man the guys at FirstShowing.net are so into movies. They camped out all night in there little piece of heaven to watch Spider-Man 3. They setup this like little room on the side of the cinema with a TV, N64, surround sound, couch basically everything you could want whilst camping out for those must see movies. [...]
