Gordon Gekko Will Be Back in Wall Street 2

Wall StreetRemember that brutal 1987 drama simply called Wall Street? Ok, you probably do, but I don't (I'm a bit young), but I'll bet you'll know this name - Gordon Gekko. He's that hardassed, cold-hearted investor, played by Michael Douglas, who was "willing to do anything to get to the top" in Wall Street. Given we're already in the era of sequels, it's obvious that Fox would jump on something like this too as they're now launching development of a sequel to Wall Street. The 1987 film was directed by Oliver Stone and won Michael Douglas an Oscar, but so far Stone isn't back and they're still only hoping to get Douglas back to star.

The farthest this has gone as of now is simply signing deals with Edward Pressman, who produced the original, and with writer Stephen Schiff to write an updated version of a look into the underside of the financial world. This sequel is currently titled Money Never Sleeps, a lot catchier than just Wall Street. Let's hope it's nothing too bad, given Fox's current reputation of butchering any and everything these days. And to leave it off, here are a few of the great quotes from Gekko.

"It's not a question of enough, pal. It's a zero sum game, somebody wins, somebody loses. Money itself isn't lost or made, it's simply transferred from one perception to another."

"What's worth doing is worth doing for money."
