More Great Casting Choices for Ron Howard's Frost/Nixon

Some Thursday morning casting news for you, this time for the film titled Frost/Nixon about David Frost's interviews with President Nixon. The film is directed by Ron Howard, before he heads back to Angels & Demons, and stars Michael Sheen as David Frost and Frank Langella as Richard Nixon. Just added to the cast are Sam Rockwell, Toby Jones and Matthew Macfadyen as various journalists and researchers.
The cast for this film just seems to be getting better and better. Michael Sheen, who already did a great job playing Tony Blair in The Queen last year, I'm confident will do a fine job in this role as well. Toby Jones I'm a big fan of who always adds a wonderfully distinct touch to films he's involved in. And Sam Rockwell I've been glad to see reinvigorate his career with great performances in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Snow Angels.
For those who may be unfamiliar with Frost/Nixon, it's based on the hit Peter Morgan play that opened in August of 2006. The story is based on a series of televised interviews that President Nixon granted David Frost in 1977 and that ended with a tacit admission of guilt regarding his role in the Watergate scandal. It's another stage-to-screen adaptation, with both Michael Sheen and Frank Langella reprising their same roles from the Broadway play. Shooting will begin in the late summer for a 2008 release.
