Joe Carnahan's Remarkable Fellows with Jason Bateman Bought

How many of you enjoyed Joe Carnahan's Smokin' Aces in January? I was hoping it would be the surprise hit of early 2007, but honestly I was let down and so were many movie-goers. However, that doesn't mean Joe Carnahan still doesn't have something great in the works. His latest pitch, titled The Remarkable Fellows, is an action buddy comedy that he'll write and direct which was just picked up early on by Universal. Also set to star in it is Jason Bateman, who took part in coming up with the idea.
The movie is about two brothers who take over the family business, which involves exacting revenge for clients. Bateman will play one of the brothers, who are being referred to as "part James Bond and part Ricky Jay." Bateman also adds a bit more behind the story, "The revenge scenario is dependent on the intricacy of the plot. If the president of a major bank was sleeping with the French ambassador's wife, the banker would call these guys."
It's aiming for production sometime in the next few years, as Carnahan is busy with a number of other projects and is only in the very early stages with this. I'm sure we'll get back to this again when we finally get something on it, which will probably be years down the road, but it doesn't hurt to start following what could be a good film early on.
