The Hughes Brothers' Post-Apocalyptic Book of Eli

The Hughes Brothers, comprised of Allen and Albert Hughes (who've directed From Hell, Dead Presidents, and Menace II Society previously) are taking on a drama called Book of Eli, their first feature since 2001's From Hell. The film is a post-apocalyptic drama revolving around a lone hero who fights his way across the wasteland of America. He's the protector of a sacred book that may hold the key to saving humanity. Sounds like a post-apocalyptic western of sorts, but we have yet to see how it turns out visually or stylistically.

The film is being produced by Joel Silver (The Invasion, The Reaping) for Warner Brothers. In addition to Book of Eli, The Hughes Brothers are returning to the big screen with a few other films, including directing the big screen adaptation of the TV series Kung Fu and a film called The Ice Man. No date is announced for the start of production on Book of Eli, but we'll keep you updated as it develops.
