Jack Black and Judd Apatow Join Forces in Year One

If you haven't seen Knocked Up yet, please go do so, it's worth it. Once you see that, then come back and read this bit of news. Judd Apatow, who wrote and directed both Knocked Up and The 40 Year Old Virgin, and who is producer on the upcoming comedy Superbad, has become quite a powerful person in Hollywood. He has helped create and develop some of the funniest films in the last decade, and he's still got more of them in the works. The latest is a comedy titled Year One with Jack Black set to star.
Apatow, who we mentioned before, will only be producing, and instead Harold Ramis (who directed Caddyshack and Groundhog Day previously) will be writing and directing. Although there are no real details about the story publicly available yet, the film was co-written as an original idea by Ramis and "The Office" writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. In addition to Jack Black, Michael Cera (who is a lead in the upcoming Superbad) will have a primary role in the film as well.
As bland as this news may sound, it's great to see such a fantastic team of comedians working together. Although Apatow is only producing, his influence will definitely have an impact and the combination of Ramis with Jack Black and Michael Cera means we will be treated to some truly great comedy.
