The Dark Knight Updates: New Bat Suit and Bat Pod Photos
June 18, 2007
by Alex Billington
I think some sort of news from The Dark Knight, (the sequel to Batman Begins) whether it's a spy photo or some minor casting, is posted every single week somewhere, but not all of it is that essential (unless you truly are a die hard Batman fan). However there are a few worthwhile updates that have hit over this past weekend to show all of you. First up is a very high resolution version of the new Bat Suit in all its glory. Second is a couple of new photos of Batman's motorcycle, being refered to as the Bat Pod, that are also just as exciting as the first time we saw the Tumbler from Batman Begins.
First up, here's the Batman's new suit, tweaked and improved. You can see a version in Entertainment Weekly here that outlines some of the changes.
And if you really want a detailed look at all the differences between the suits in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, then hit up ScreenRant, who has a great article on the suits.

Secondly, a set of new photos of Batman's new ride, the Bat Pod motorcycle. Not only does it look cool, but you can check out a video if it in action over at MSN as well. The Bat Pod will feature armor, weapons, and other bat toys, which includes grappling hooks, cannons and machine guns.

The photo comes from the LA Times, where they also reveal some pretty bad ass facts about the bike. The tires "are both a monstrously huge 508 millimeters, and the engines are in the hubs of each wheel. Steering isn’t by hand but by shoulder, since there aren’t handlebars. Instead, there are shields that fit each arm like sleeves and have the ability to rotate around the bike’s frame. The two foot pegs are set 3 1/2 feet apart on either side of the tank, which the rider lies on, belly down."
Anyone else think this thing is even more badass that Ghost Rider's bike in his movie? The Dark Knight is looking better and better every day, and I know we'll be bringing you lots of news on it when we hit Comic-Con in July, so stay tuned!
