An update on the official Indiana Jones website announced that the first official day of filming for Indiana Jones IV started yesterday, June 18th. This film is leading up to a huge opening next May and that means everyone will be following every last step it takes to its final opening. Everyone knows by now that Shia LaBeouf has been cast as the lead in the film, and although we just spoke with him this past weekend regarding Transformers, he didn't say anything more than one small line about his involvement in the film. However he did provide an update from the Indy IV set via video which you can catch below.

Joining the cast is newcomer Shia LaBeouf, whose perspective on Indiana Jones is a bit unique among his fellow cast members: When Shia grew up, Indy was already a legend. We recently caught up with LaBeouf before cameras rolled, and he shared his thoughts about joining the Indy adventure.

Watch the Indy IV update from Shia LaBeouf:

Is anyone else getting pretty damn excited? I've got a feeling this opening is going to be as big as Star War Episode I, or close to it.

Wow, I totally agree. That video got me good, just seeing Shia like that!

And was it me or did that guy in the background look like Kevin Smith! lol.

Shia seems to be a very down to earth person. He speaks of himself growing up with his dad and his dad's movies.

Seeing this makes me believe even more that he derserves his fame - he's genuine.
