James Bond 22 Director is Marc Forster
June 19, 2007
by Alex Billington
Finally some solid news on the upcoming James Bond 22 scheduled to hit theaters in November of 2008 - filmmaker Marc Forster has been set to direct. Forster's film repertoire so far is quite appealing: Monster's Ball, Finding Neverland, as well as last year's sleeper hit Stranger Than Fiction. If you've seen those films you definitely know Forster is capable of quite a bit and it will be quite interesting to see what he brings to the James Bond franchise. Forster will also start working on the script with screenwriter Paul Haggis (Million Dollar Baby, Crash, Casino Royale) from a draft written originally by Neil Purvis and Robert Wade.
Forster said about the announcement, "I have always been drawn to different kinds of stories and I have also always been a Bond fan, so it is very exciting to take on this challenge. The new direction that the Bond character has taken offers a director a host of fresh possibilities and I look forward to working with Daniel Craig, Barbara Broccoli, and Michael Wilson, as well as the team at Sony and MGM on this new film."
After Casino Royale, I'm definitely excited to see where this franchise leads, especially in the hands of Forster, Haggis, and Daniel Craig.

Definitely interesting news. I knew that he was in the running. I also heard that Tony Scott was, which could have been interesting as well. I am a fan of Forster's work and will be interested in what he does with Bond. Casino Royale was incredible so I expect something great.
