Frank Miller Adapting Trouble Is My Business for Clive Owen

Author Frank Miller will be adapting another film, this time Raymond Chandler's novel "Trouble Is My Business" as a film for Clive Owen to star in. Owen has chosen partly because it provides him with a similar chance (as Sin City) to frame the narrative with a compelling voiceover, using Chandler's hardboiled prose as hard-drinking private eye Philip Marlowe cracks cases, busts heads and romances femme fatales in 1940s Los Angeles.
Clive Owen commented on the choice, stating "Frank Miller knows more about noir than anyone I have ever met, and clearly the writing of Raymond Chandler has been an enormous influence on his life and his work. Miller adapting Chandler seemed like a perfect match."
As for what is meant exactly be adapting, I have yet to decipher the report from Variety. I'm sure someone can soon clarify, but I don't know if that just means writing the screenplay or also directing it as well. Either way, sounds like a good project to look forward to in the coming years.

Philip Marlowe has been played by a few people, most notably would be Humphrey Bogart in "The Big Sleep". I'm interested to see what Clive Owen does with the role.

I heard about Owen taking on the role of Marlowe. He has the potential to rival or surpass my favorite Marlowe actor (Dick Powell in MURDER, MY SWEET). Adding Miller to the mix worries me a little. He isn't exactly the most subtle writer in the world, and his recent comic book writing seems a parody of his best work. I'll keep an open mind and keep my fingers crossed.
By the way, TROUBLE IS MY BUSINESS is a Chandler short story–not a novel (as reported above) or a novella (as reported in Variety). All but one of Chandler's novels have previously been adapted for the screen, so choosing one of the short stories allows Owen to star in an original movie rather than a remake.
