MGM Fighting For Terminator Sequel Rights

If you already forgot that more films in the Terminator franchise were still in the works from news back in early May that a production company named The Halcyon Company had bought up the rights and a script, here's a brutal reminder. The Halcyon Co. has filed a lawsuit claiming that MGM is "interfering with their right to negotiate for the distribution" of the fourth film. MGM is fighting to retain its rights to distribute because they claim they have an exclusive 30-day negotiation window for the film, which the company acquired in the 1990s with Orion Pictures' bankruptcy.
The Halcyon Co. had acquired the rights in May to sequels to Terminator 2 and Terminator 3 and another script by T3 writers John Brancato and Michael Ferris. You can read more about that story from May here.
Although this is an uninteresting legal battle, it's quickly making the rounds on the internet stirring up some buzz. No one knows whether MGM deserves it or not (as they claim), but it's interesting to see the dust that this franchise is kicking up. In the end, I just hope they make another great Terminator film!

Wait a minute. They already made a Terminator sequel
I remember Linda Hamilton was in it and she was locked up and escaped
Michael Biehn was in it briefly as Reese, so, I don't get what they mean by a
sequel
Can somebody please explain?
