Roger Avary Talks Nocturnals Adaptation

With Comic-Con coming up in just under a week, there is guaranteed to be an excessive amount of discussion about comic book movie adaptations and much more over the next few weeks. Filmmaker and screenwriter Roger Avary talked with ShockTillYouDrop.com yesterday about adapting Dan Brereton's eerie comic book, The Nocturnals. The good news is that he's still pushing for it and he did show Beowulf producer Jeff Rapke the comic, but the bad news is that fans will still have to wait patiently to see a film.

"I'm seeing Dan [Brereton] next week - he's going to be at Comic-Con," Avary says. "I'd love to see that made. I actually gave the comics to [Beowulf producer] Jeff Rapke and was like, 'Check this out, this is the sh*t!'" Needless to say, "Nocturnals" fans will have to patiently wait a bit longer before they see Doc Horror, Halloween Girl and, more importantly, Gunwitch, on the big screen.

Although this isn't the most well recognized comic book out there, I'm very intrigued. Simply the characters: Gunwitch (pictured below) and Doc Horror, have gotten me interested enough to possibly find a copy at Comic-Con when we're out there to check out! I just hope this ends up in the right hands and it gets an adaptation it deserves!
