The latest, greatest news from the comedic genius of Jack Black is a new project titled The Lost Adventures of Stone Perlmutter Jr. Black is producing and starring in the film that's being made for Universal Pictures and will be written by Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory. Both writers come from a TV background on "The Late Show with David Letterman" as well as episodes of "King of the Hill". I've got to be honest - this sounds like the perfect film for Jack Black to star in.
The film is described as a faux documentary made from recently "discovered" footage from 1979 chronicling the disastrous journey of a self-styled Indiana Jones-type adventurer who traveled the world trying to find the Yeti, El Dorado, the lost tomb of Jesus and other great mysteries. Obviously Jack Black is signed on to play Stone Perlmutter Jr. Essentially it sounds like an extended SNL sketch combined with the antics of Jack Black and Tenacious D - as in, something that will kick plenty of comedic ass!
Count me in on this one. I'll be following this film to the end and back!
