Saw IV: New Domestic Poster and New Trap Photo

If it's Halloween, it must be Saw IV! That's the new tagline on the latest poster for Saw IV, and no one can deny that it's not accurate. We've had a new Saw movie for four years in a row and we'll be seeing at least two more. The hype is slowing building on this but I think it's going to be a hard sell for Lionsgate. Saw III was a success in theaters because it had a great build-up, but now everyone is starting to roll their eyes at more Saw films. They're going to really have to show that there is a lot to offer in this one or it'll just fall hard on its face - and this new trap photo may just be that.
You've been warned - this photo is gruesome! I would guess if you've already clicked onwards to check this out, you won't be phased by the gory nature of what you'll find in the Saw movies. Thanks to the Official Saw Fan Club for the photo.

Anyone have any idea what this trap will do? It looks like those blades are slowly cutting across his face…
I'm starting to get a bit more excited for Saw IV, but as I started saying in the intro, I'm not yet sold. I'm a fan of the Saw films, but they've got to go a bit more into the story (even the slightest bit) to somehow get me to say "oh hell yes this actually looks good!"
Saw IV will hit theaters everywhere on October 26th. It's directed by Saw II and Saw III director Darren Lynn Bousman again. The newest domestic poster can be seen below, which looks very similar to the international poster that was revealed at Comic-Con.

I think the poster looks great! The use of the head in the fruit scale is brilliant! I can't wait for SAW IV - this franchise is becoming quite the Halloween tradition.

I'm extremely excited about Saw IV. I loved Feast and the bloody geniuses who wrote that hilarious film wrote Saw IV, so there's no doubt that this film is going to rock! Feast is one of the best B horror films I've seen in years. I was cracking up throughout the entire thing. If Darren says this film is going to be great, then I trust him. I don't think he would've returned to direct if he didn't feel that this film rocks!

That trap is actually really simple. The guy is strapped into a chair that I think is cutting into his wrists and causing him to bleed a lot. Jigsaw tells him that to release the chains or whatever that are holding the guy's wrists/ankles to the chair, he has to press into the knives hard enough with his face.
