Takashi Miike's Next is Kamisama no Puzzle (God's Puzzle)

Cult favorite horror filmmaker Takashi Miike has lined up his next project with producer Haruki Kadokawa (Yamato, The Blue Wolf) titled Kamisama no Puzzle (God's Puzzle). The film is a sci-fi romantic comedy based on a prize-winning, bestselling novel by Shinji Kimoto.

The description of the story is quite confusing but a perfect fit for Miike. Hayato Ichihara (Juon 2, Rainbow Song) stars as twins — one a diligent student and one who is drifting through school and life. They join forces with a pretty, brilliant, dropout (Mitsuki Tanimura) to unlock the secrets of the universe and build one of their own.
Kamisama no Puzzle will start filming in a few days in Tokyo and is aiming for a summer of 2008 release, but a distributor has not yet been secured. This sounds interesting enough for me to maybe actually catch it when and if it ever comes to theaters in America. I'm not as big of a Miike fan as a number of people that I know.
