This indie drama about a father who is struggling to tell his two daughters that their mom was killed in Iraq. That's not spoiling it, it's just the emotional intro to this film and boy does it look powerful. I'm a bit upset that I haven't already seen this - it won the Audience Award (as well as the screenwriting award) at the Sundance Film Festival this January and I missed all the screenings of it! Either way I'm still excited to see what was determined by the audiences as the best film of the fest and although I've heard it's incredibly sad, I'm looking forward to a fantastic drama. Definitely watch this trailer, I nearly cried in the quick two minutes that went by…
Watch the trailer for Grace Is Gone:
Grace Is Gone is written and directed by first-timer James C. Strouse. The film hits theaters this fall starting on October 5th. Oscar contender? I think so.

Did my eyes deceive me or did it say the haunting music was composed by Clint Eastwood? Wow.

Wow, this movie is going to be fantastic. There are some films where you don't even need to see any footage to know it's going to be good. Knowing how terrific an actor Cusack is and the synopsis alone makes me want to see this. Can't wait!
