PVC-1 Trailer

If you saw Children of Men early this year then you know how incredible single-shot scenes can be. There were numerous 10-15 minute single-shot scenes in Children of Men that just blew me away. Now Greek first time filmmaker Spiros Stathoulopoulos has made an entire 85 minute movie in one shot. PVC-1 is about a Colombian woman who is taken hostage by terrorists and has an explosive device attached to her neck. The film debuted at Cannes and has been getting a fairly positive response. I know I'll be certainly watching it if it ever makes it to a film festival near me. In the meantime, a trailer has debuted and it looks pretty thrilling.

Citizen Kane, Goodfellas, Hitchcock's Rope, Children of Men, and even this year's upcoming Atonement all have lengthy tracking shots. Will PVC-1 stand up to these cinematic greats?

Well I assume that you're also aware of the film "Russian Ark" (2002), that holds record for the longest single take. The entire single shot, 99 minute film was done in four attempts in one day.

This looks amazing to me, not an original idea by any means but certainly looks well executed.
