Hellboy II: The Golden Army Official Website Online
October 17, 2007
by Alex Billington
If you don't know it by now, I'm going to say it outright: I'm a HUGE Hellboy fan. He's my absolute favorite comic book character and I've got an obsession with all things Hellboy, including Guillermo del Toro's upcoming sequel. An official production website has launched for Hellboy II: The Golden Army and you can find it right here: www.hellboymovie.com.
This website is really damn good. Not only does it have a blog from director/writer Guillermo del Toro, but it just looks great. On top of that there is some fantastic concept art and plenty of great features, so check it out. And of course, I want everyone to start getting excited for HBII and I'll be pushing it endlessly until its release next summer.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army hits theaters next summer currently on July 11th, 2008. Ron Perlman is back as Hellboy as well as Doug Jones as Abe Sapien and Selma Blair as Liz Sherman.
With a signature blend of action, humor and character-based spectacle, the saga of the world’s toughest, kitten-loving hero from Hell continues to unfold in Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Bigger muscle, badder weapons and more ungodly villains arrive in an epic vision of imagination from Oscar-nominated director Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy).
After an ancient truce existing between humankind and the invisible realm of the fantastic is broken, hell on Earth is ready to erupt. A ruthless leader who treads the world above and the one below defies his bloodline and awakens an unstoppable army of creatures. Now, it’s up to the planet’s toughest, roughest superhero to battle the merciless dictator and his marauders. He may be red. He may be horned. He may be misunderstood. But when you need the job done right, it’s time to call in Hellboy (Ron Perlman).
Along with his expanding team in the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense—pyrokinetic girlfriend Liz (Selma Blair), aquatic empath Abe (Doug Jones) and protoplasmic mystic Johann—the BPRD will travel between the surface strata and the unseen magical one, where creatures of fantasy become corporeal. And Hellboy, a creature of two worlds who’s accepted by neither, must choose between the life he knows and an unknown destiny that beckons him.

While I'm not a comic book reader, and don't have a clue of the story or characters I did enjoy the first movie of "Hellboy", and looking forward to the 2nd installment. Ron Perlman brings a brutish/comedic feel to the screen in all he plays. His newest role in psycho thriller "The Last Winter" looks really good, and Selma Blair is easy on the eyes so I say bring it on Hellboy….
