Must Watch: Trailer for Wanted

What the hell is it with the movies coming out early next year?! A couple of them are looking really, really good when almost everything that comes out January through April is supposed to be bad! Wanted is an adaptation of a graphic novel by Mark Millar that stars Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy, and Morgan Freeman, and reminds me a bit of Matrix and a bit of last year's Next. Interestingly, it looks awesome and I'd highly suggest everyone watch this. We posted a few new photos from it yesterday and now here's the full trailer. Plus it explains that last trippy glass photo as well.
I've got to make a few other observations regarding Wanted. First, as much as I love Angelina Jolie, the way she looks in this reminds me a lot of her look in Hackers. That takes me back given that movie is one of my all-time favorite guilty pleasures. Secondly, I want this to be good, but I'm worried in the same way I was with Next. That looked pretty good in the trailer, but turned out being utter crap.

Wanted is directed by Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov, of Night Watch and Day Watch previously. The movie is based on a comic book series by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones published by Image Comics. Wanted hits theaters full force this summer on June 27th.

i disagree, the next trailer looked like crap and was - in turn - indicative of the actual film as a whole.
and i think this one could end up trying too hard. i hope that's not true though.

Hrm. I feel like the trailer could've been put together a bit better. But whole knows.
My best friend and I will probably go see it anyway. Angelina kicking butt? Count me in.

hhmm…. be an ordinary graphics designer or kill people for to not be mundane……..

I sincerely love Timur Bekmambetov and he is my favorite foreign director. Night watch is amazing and Day Watch is also good. The "Watcher" series is known as the Russian Matrix trilogy so this film will definitely have many similarities to the Matrix seeing as that's just the way Bekmambetov makes films…He is a CG guru.
If you haven't seen Night Watch or Day Watch I suggest you give them a shot; you can even find them dubbed in the states if you don't like subtitles.

Although this does look like a good action movie it clearly has nothing to do with the comic it is based on. In the comic Wesley is recruited to join the super villain community which has wiped out all super hero's in the world.

I agree with Matt I read the graphic novel or the graphic novel series and just couldn't wait for the next exciting issue. Looking closely at the adaptation, will it live up to the novel? I was like a junkie waiting for each of the novel series every month. Although it has been awhile since I read it, I can still recall it vividly. As a matter of fact I turned the novel on to some friends who don't read graphic novels and they couldn't put it down either, that says a lot about a novel. Does the father remain dead in this movie, because remember if you are the greatest assassin that has ever lived who can kill you? This movie better not disappoint me I don’t care how sexy Angelina Jolie can pose those lips.

never really given two shits for A Jolie, but man, she's aging nicely, burnishing down to an intense little bit of cougar.

Angelina Jolie definitely looks good, but not sure about the rest of the film. Maybe I will rent it.
