By now you should've had the chance to soak up Ridley Scott's latest film, American Gangster, and enjoy another great feature from this talented filmmaker. If you're wondering what he's got lined up next and what you can expect from the legendary director for years to come, we've got all the details. Not only does he have a film with Leo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe currently filming, but also two more in the works including a recently announced supernatural thriller. From Alien to Blade Runner to Gladiator and now American Gangster, Ridley has brought us over a dozen unforgettable movies, and I'm hoping all of these in the works will continue to deliver.
Ridley is currently filming Body Of Lies, a dramatic thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. The film is about an ex-journalist-turned CIA agent, played by DiCaprio, who's sent to Amman to work with Jordan's intelligence chief to track an Al Qaeda leader rumored to be planning attacks against America. The expected release is sometime in mid-to-late 2008 to 2009.
Following completion of Body Of Lies, Ridley will direct Nottingham again with Russell Crowe in the lead. The film is a revisionist take on the Robin Hood tale that has been described as the "Gladiator version of Robin Hood." The expected release is sometime in late 2008 or likely in 2009.
And after that, Ridley will take on Stones, a supernatural thriller without a cast yet. The film revolves around the mysterious destruction of ancient religious sites around the world; it turns out that Stonehenge is the tie that binds together artifacts that still have primeval powers. Written by Matt Cirulnick, the idea is that Stonehenge, the great pyramids and other artifacts were built for a specific unified purpose. The expected release is sometime in 2009 or 2010+.
So far everything sounds pretty damn good. Since Black Hawk Down in 2001, Ridley hasn't had anything that has been both a huge blockbuster and stand-out incredible, but I'm hoping one of these is a return to form. At the moment I've got my eye on Nottingham. Body Of Lies sounds pretty good, but everyone is tired of all the middle eastern movies and I can't expect this one to be anything different. Stones sounds good, too, but it's all about Nottingham for me.

What about "Blood Meridian", the western based off of the Cormac McCarthy novel? That is supposedly one of his future projects.
