Abrams' brilliance and just how good this will be. I'm still excited, and I'm still expecting the best action, thriller in the first six months of 2008 guaranteed. Denver Film Festival Award Winners Announced
If you're not located around Denver, Colorado it's likely you don't give a "hoot" about the Denver Film Festival. It just wrapped up yesterday after 10 days of joyous independent and foreign cinema. What's important is that the award winners were announced, both jury-chosen and audience-chosen awards. If you want to know what indie movies to keep an eye on, this should point you in a general direction. Or at least for those of you who love following indie cinema, it might be worth taking a look at. It's always interesting to see what wins a local fest because it gives you an idea of what most people really like and what indie movies really stand out.
One Last Time, One Last Reason - Bloodier, Better Hitman Trailer
This is going to be the last time we run a clip or a trailer for Hitman, as it seems like every few days a new clip or trailer hits. This international trailer blew me away and I just needed to make it the last trailer. The film arrives in only three more days, on the 21st, and is still looking good. Despite the problems with Fox kicking out French director Xavier Gens, it will still be rated R and I'm still expecting it to kick ass. If you need one last reason to see Hitman or you need to watch another Hitman trailer one last time, then THIS is what you need to see. It's bloodier, it's better, and this trailer just kicks plenty of ass! Don't say I've warned you: Hitman should be fantastic and this trailer confirms it.
Stephen King Approves of The Mist's New Ending!

Legendary horror author Stephen King has had two of his stories adapted into feature films this year, the first being 1408 back in June and now The Mist, starring Thomas Jane, Toby Jones and Marcia Gay Harden, hitting theaters this week. Readers of the site should know that I definitely did not like 1408, despite its great reviews and generally positive feedback. Fortunately I've seen The Mist already and it's much better, much scarier, much more thrilling, and overall a better movie. It was not perfect, and there are some flaws or debatable parts, but that doesn't mean it's still good. The ending itself is so good that not only does Stephen King approve of it, but he says he'll kill me if I spoil it!
Bruce Willis Joins Sci-Fi Thriller The Surrogates
Science fiction must be trying to make a comeback in these next few years! There's Wall-E from Pixar, Vin Diesel's Babylon A.D., and J.J. Abrams' Star Trek to name a few. Another one starring none other than Bruce Willis can now be added to the list. The Surrogates, directed by Jonathan Mostow (U-571, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) is a sci-fi thriller that's set to start shooting in February in Boston with Willis in the lead. The Surrogates was originally a graphic novel from Top Shelf Comix and was adapted by Michael Ferris and John Brancato, the writers on Terminator 3 and the upcoming Terminator 4. So the Terminator 3 team is back at it but with Willis instead of Schwarzenegger this time!
